This lovely mare is now for sale. Sierra went to 3 dressage shows in the spring with marks to 74% at training level. She is schooling first and second level movements and shows lots of talent along with an excellent attitude. She is also great on the roads and loves trail rides. A wonderful combination of sensitivity and sensibility make Sierra a fabulous ride.
We purchased the beautiful mare SAN SIERRA at the Oldenburg
Elite Auction in Germany in September 2006, and she arrived in Canada
in the end of October. SIERRA is a very personable mare
who loves attention. She has very good uphill movement and is very rideable
with her sensible willing to please nature. She will make a wonderful
addition to our farm with her excellent bloodlines. SIERRA
is in foal to the Oldenburg stallion DE LUXE for a late March 2008 foal
- we think this will be a wonderful cross!
UPDATE: SIERRA had a very handsome black colt on April 3rd, 2008. DE LITE was presold and will be heading to Michigan in the fall. We took DE LITE and SIERRA to the GOV inspection in the end of June and both received Premium status. SIERRA is now in foal to the hugely popular DE NIRO son DANCIER, due June 4th, 2009. UPDATE: SIERRA foaled June 12th 2009, a super black filly with lots of chrome. DANCIA is a big moving, powerful filly with excellent confirmation. She was rated Premium by the GOV in August.
UPDATE: SIERRA is starting under saddle again (Fall 2010). We are looking forward to showing her next year.

Bloodlines
Sire Line:
SAN SIERRA is by the hugely popular Oldenburg stallion
SANDRO HIT. Himself a National Young Horse Champion and
Young Dressage World Champion, his offspring are breaking price-records,
winning championships and are Stallion Approval Champions. To date he has
sired over 65 approved stallions. This beautiful black stallion has brilliant
type and top quality movement. He has started a new era in the dressage
ring and is already writing sporting and breeding history. SANDRO
HIT's sire SANDRO SONG was Oldenburg Champion
Young Stallion and Main Premium Champion. His dam, Elite mare LORETTA, also
produced the Reserve World Champion and the ReserveYoung Horse Champion
DIAMOND HIT and the Premium stallion ROYAL HIT.
LORETTA's sire RAMINO was Stallion Performance
Test Champion and 5 times Italian Champion. LORETTA's grandsire
WELT AS has been a very influential stallion, siring 14

SAN SIERRA's dam LA RUBINA was shown
and won to "M" level in dressage. She is by "the sire of
the century" RUBINSTEIN I. This amazing black stallion
had 40 wins at Grand Prix level, was a member of the 1996 Olympic team,
sired 89 state premium mares and 66 approved stallions and was the sire
of top auction horses and Grand Prix winners. RUBINSTEIN's
dam ANTINE, was a full sister to the 3 time Olympic competitor
AMON, and the 2 time Olympic champion AHLERICH
ridden by Dr. Reiner Klimke.
LA RUBINA's dam is the SPS mare LA BOHEIME,
out of the SPS mare LA BULESKA, and by the Selle Francais
super star FURIOSO II. FURIOSO II won
his 100 day test, and has been incredibly influential to the Oldenburg
breed. Based on money earned by offspring, FURIOSO II
was the top producing stallion in Germany from 1979-89. In 1990 he was
the top producer of dressage horses. During his lifetime, he produced
over 200 state premium mares and over 70 approved sons, including VOLTAIRE
and FOR PLEASURE, and the Grand Prix dressage stallion
COCKTAIL.
